April 2017 – Income Report

I am so excited that my blog is actually live! Of course, there are so many things to improve yet, but the most important thing for me is that I finally STARTED!

Income Report (1)

April 2017 Overview

Okay, when the idea of “blogging” stuck in my mind, I was both excited and stressed. There are so many things to learn and juggle with social media, SEO, building an email list, content, promote, networking, build a product, etc etc. It felt like a headache. On the other hand, there are so many -SO MANY!- resources where you can learn about all these things, and you wish you could learn all these stuff overnight. That’s when I found myself reading and scrolling through Pinterest for hours… And that was way more confusing…

One day, I bumped into a post on Pinterest about Facebook Groups for Bloggers. This day my life changed. There’s so much help from all these people in there and so much motivation. I wouldn’t launch my blog if it wasn’t for them so I owe them a big Thank you! I encourage all of you, either you are a new blogger or more experienced one to join those groups. I promise it will help you a LOT! These groups are:

One thing that was bothering me a lot was about investing money.  I have zero experience as a blogger, so I was a little worried that I would fail. These people gave me the idea to start as a free blogger to learn, and eventually, upgrade and move to a self-hosted platform. And here I am!

I started this Blog on April 14th. So it’s not actually “monthly” income report. Even though, let’s see how I did so far.

But first,
Why I want to share my income reports:

  1. It inspires new bloggers -I got inspired too!- and helps them to see how I organize my blog so they can do it too.
  2. It helps me keep on track everything related to my blog. It’s something like a journal.
  3. It’s a way for me to see my mistakes and improve myself.
  4. I’m still new to the whole blogging thing. I’ve learned a lot from other income reports -and there’s more to learn!- so I wish I can help other bloggers in the future.

April 2017 Traffic reports

182 Pageviews! It’s so exciting when you see people viewing and commenting your content. It makes me feel so good and motivated to keep going!!

April 2017 Social Media Stats

The truth is, I started new accounts on all of the above apart from Twitter, which is a totally new thing to me. I was trying to promote all of them together, but it’s so confuIing, so I decided to focus on Instagram and Pinterest from now on.

April 2017 Income

Well, Income is not my main focus right now. My main focus is to provide valuable content to you and build a community!

Accomplishments for April

  1. My blog is up and running!
  2. Wrote 2 blog posts!
  3. Kinda understood the WordPress platform and customized few themes (free ones)
  4. Editing my own pictures with Canva.com (Way faster than at the start xD) and steadily making sense of Adobe Photoshop.

Goals for May

  1. Reach 500 Pageviews.
  2. Publish at least 2 posts per week.
  3. Get 500 followers on Instagram
  4. Get 100 followers on Pinterest
  5. Join at least 5 Pinterest Group Boards
  6. Figuring out PayPal.

***BONUS GOAL: Move to a self-hosted platform***
(I mark this as a bonus goal because May is going to be a tough month for me financially since I’m unemployed and there are some things that need to be done.)

So this is my April’s Blogging adventure Guys and Girls, I really want to keep myself “transparent” with you all, and share my journey exactly the way it is.

Well done on your achievements! I never had that kind of statistics until the third month of having a blog so well done. I put my first blog post up on the 2nd of February but I created my blog in January. I blog about all things related to food, beauty and just life. I also haven’t made any money from blogging yet. Good luck on your blogging journey! Many Blessings, Grace 😉

My favorite post I’ve read all day. I’m not even kidding. We’ve all been there. Whether it’s blogging or anything else .. Ground Zero. It’s great that you’re looking for accomplishments right were you are. One day you’ll look back on this post and be proud because you’ll know how far you’ve come!

if you want to monetize your blog, you need to get away from wordpress.com as it does not allow you to use affiliate links, and Google ads and a lot of other stuff that can actually make you money and drive traffic. Get a good host, and get a WordPress.org site. Otherwise, I have to say that you are doing a very good job, I think your blog looks awesome! Blessings!

Congratualations! The hardest part I think is always actually starting it. I love that you have set goals that you are tracking. That’s really important and something worth celebrating after reaching a certain goal. Following you on bloglovin 🙂

I think this is great. Congrats on taking that first step — starting the blog. I’ve been writing forever and blogging for about a year now. It gets easier gaining traffic and income as you get more visible, but it’s a lot of fun work too. Welcome to the blogging life 😉

It’s not overnight and you’re working towards earning in the future which is awesome. I think if you continue to work hard for your blog, you’re going to earn in no time.

Thank you so much for sharing your opinion! I see everywhere blogging about money, and huge income reports… so here’s the “ugly” truth (though it’s totally beautiful to me! ) you don’t have to make money from day one and that’s okay!

Congratulations!! I tried starting my blog two years ago. I got overwhelmed really fast, and stepped back. I have 4 kids and am ALWAYS overwhelmed! Recently I’ve come back to it. This time around I have really started taking the time to do more research, and dive in with more focus!
What you wrote in this post is just so encouraging!!! You are doing it!! I also love that you said you decided to start out with the “free” platform first. I have done the same, I wanted to see if I could build an audience first. Everything I’ve read says to buy your domain first thing, before even downloading wordpress. I’ve been wondering if I’m being foolish, or unrealistic? You have reassured me, to trust my instincts and keep going and believe in myself!! Thank You!! Your blog is beautiful by the way!
